What do you learn in infant massage classes?

Baby massage is so much more than just the strokes. Over 4-5 weeks, you will learn:

  • Preparation for baby massage (environment, oils, etc.)
  • Understanding your baby’s cues and body language
  • Relaxation techniques
  • The complete baby massage sequence as developed by the International Association of Infant Massage
  • Massage techniques (positioning, massage pressure, rate and rhythm)
  • Gentle movements for your baby
  • A routine for the relief of Colic and gas
  • Ideas for your growing child

There is also time to discuss related topics such as:

  • Bonding & Attachment
  • Crying
  • Sleeping
  • Stress & relaxation
  • Or any other topic of interest to the group

Classes are best suited for babies who are not yet crawling; however they can be tailored to older babies.

What are the class options?

The group course is held over five weekly sessions of 60-90 minutes. Classes are kept small to ensure you receive the attention you need. Cost = $150 including a bottle of massage oil, parents’ handbook, light refreshments and certificate upon completion.  Take me to the schedule
The private course is held over four weekly sessions of 60-90 minutes. Classes are held in the comfort of your own home. Cost = $200 including a bottle of massage oil, parents’ handbook, light refreshments and certificate upon completion. A surcharge to cover petrol and travel time may be required if your home is more than 10km away.  Enquire

Krystyna teaches in the South East suburbs of Melbourne. She will happily come to your Mothers/Parents group or your home. Alternatively, you can join classes held in the Monash or Knox areas.

Krystyna is a mother of two boys and a Certified Infant Massage Instructor with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM).

The IAIM program is the only infant massage training available in Australia that has a strong body of research and evaluation conducted by independent medical and scientific researchers. The program is taught internationally and has been developed over 30 years. You can be confident you are getting world-class, well-developed and well-researched tuition.

The IAIM course is the only infant massage course which has national qualification recognition. That means it has undergone all the quality checks required for national accreditation under the Australian Qualification Framework. Baby Harmony is a proud member of the Post and Antenatal Depression Association (PANDA). Research showing the positive effects of baby massage on postnatal depression has been carried out with the IAIM massage program specifically.

Krystyna has completed training in "Beyond babyblues: Detecting and managing perinatal mental health disorders in primary care" developed by beyondblue and Parent-Infant Research Institute

Krystyna has a current Working with Children check, Police record check and level 2 First Aid certificate.
